The skis in this collection are either marketed specifically for the backcountry, or would excel as alpine touring skis, nonetheless. Some are gently used and have already been mounted with alpine touring bindings.
There is a wide range of ski preferences among backcountry skiers. Big mountain descents, ski-mo racing, roadside powder-hunting, and multi-day wilderness trips all have their own sweet spots when it comes to ski choice. Personal skiing style and individual taste, of course, should always be the most compelling factor.
That being said, weight is always something to consider when walking uphill. Here we have simply gathered together the skis we carry that fall under what we consider to be an acceptable weight for uphill travel. But if your legs aren't phased, please don't feel limited to this list.
